I worship always that (mother), who is the resident of Matanga ashrama (Matunga), the Supreme wife of Shiva, who eradicates the three afflictions, who resides under the holy fig tree, who originated by her own will, who has been protecting the inhabitants (of Matunga) from the beginning (yester years), who protects (her devotees) from premature death, hence well known as “Marubai”. May (that) mother protect us all with compassion.

I always ever worship (the mother) who awaits her children during the evening ceremonial waving of lights, the sound of the kettle drum summoning her followers to sight the mother once again, who accepts the lamentations “O Mother” and appears instantly as the refuge of her devotees, whose feet is worshipped by Subramanya & Ganesha.

Out of the impressions of various births are born this body and destiny. Under the influence of attachment and aversion, the foolish creates newer impressions. Thus, coming again (and again) into the womb of the mother, the person gets exhausted, O Pure one! O Mother, please give me a lasting place (from where) I don’t have birth anymore.
